Stem cell therapy is emerging as a groundbreaking approach in the management of liver cirrhosis, a chronic condition characterized by progressive scarring of liver tissue that impairs liver function. This therapeutic strategy involves administering stem cells into the patient’s body to initiate the repair and regeneration of liver tissue. These cells can be derived from the patient’s own tissues such as bone marrow or adipose tissue or obtained from donor sources like umbilical cord blood.
