Regenerative Stem Cell Therapy to Restore Ovarian Function in Thailand

Progress in regenerative medicine is impacting many areas of healthcare including reproductive medicine. One area is stem cell use to restore/improve ovarian function in women experiencing infertility. Ovarian rejuvenation stem cell therapy is an unproven but worthwhile novel approach that may assist women sufficiently impacted by infertility from age, premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) or natural menopause. In particular, scientists/clinicians are hopeful that by harnessing the regenerative potential of stem cells it is possible to repair or even augment an otherwise supportive ovarian environment.

Conclusion

Reproductive scientists are now exploring stem cell–based ovarian rejuvenation, which is a new and exciting area of research. This utilizes the regenerative capacity of stem cells to restore ovarian function in women with age related infertility and premature ovarian insufficiency or other medical problems.

Preliminary studies show that stem cell therapy may offer a return to ovarian function, elevated hormones levels and in some cases spontaneous pregnancy. The tissue-derivated mesenchymal stem cells and induced pluripotent stem cells have many differences in their regenerative mechanisms; however, they might help with tissue repair or reproduction.

With the progressing knowledge and technology in science, stem cell therapy can help women to reinstate pregnancies by balancing hormones.

However, for individuals with few pathways to conception, regenerative medicine offers new hope. With more developments, stem cell therapy may become a major player in achieving reproductive goals for women and improving wider reproductive health.
